Registration for Rainbow Schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin

Rainbow Schools will be open for registrations until Friday, July 9th. Registrations for elementary and secondary schools will resume when schools re-open on Monday, August 23rd. Classes will begin the day after Labour Day on Tuesday, September 7th, 2010, including full day Junior and Senior Kindergarten being offered daily in all Rainbow Schools.

Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service need your help.
Sometime around June 27th, 2010 unknown person(s) attended the Hydro One power line north of Dennie Street in the town of Capreol.
Three Hydro Poles were set on fire by the unknown person(s). The poles had to be replaced at a cost of $35,000 resulting in a power disruption.
Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers is convinced someone has information on this arson; therefore a guaranteed $1,000 reward is being offered for tips received before midnight on Monday, July 12th, 2010 if the information leads to an arrest.
Tips received after the deadline will have the standard process applied for determining reward amounts.

Barry Downe Road Extension Route Planning Study

The City of Greater Sudbury is undertaking a route planning study for the extension of Barry Downe Road from Maley Drive to Notre Dame Avenue in Hanmer. Included in the study is the extension of Main Street easterly to M.R. 85 at the Airport turn-off.
The City of Greater Sudbury, in conjunction with AECOM Canada Ltd., will be holding two Public Information Centres (PIC) to present two alternative routes. (more…)
