Milder Weather Brings Dangerous Ice Condition along Local Creeks

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has been made aware that there are people who walk along, or cross, some of the local creeks and rivers. This is a reminder that, with the milder weather and the faster flow in some of these creeks, the ice surface may not be safe – there are some areas where it is open water.
Children should be reminded of the dangers related to quick flowing waterways. Everyone should avoid even walking near them as there is always the potential of slipping off the edge.
